About Us

We are the Florida Keys Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (Florida Keys SHRM, or, simply, FLKSHRM).  We aim to be your preferred resource for HR information and support in Monroe County, Florida and part of your personal HR network.

We were founded in 1986 as the Monroe County Personnel Association and were chartered in 2001 as the Florida Keys chapter of the Society of Human Resources (SHRM). Our chapter has more than 40 professional members representing over 30 local employers, ranging from hotels, utility, county, city, education, and financial institutions as well as business partners.

It is our Mission & Purpose to foster and encourage a relationship with each employer in Monroe County, across the public and private sectors, exchanging information and listening to suggestions & ideas relating to the administrative, educational, scientific, technical, fundamental and best practice concepts of HR Management.

We hold 10 meetings throughout the year.  Our meetings are typically held on the second Wednesday of every month.
